Letter to Human Rights Commission - New Zealand
I have been asked to contact you by both Jack Byrne and Allyson Hamblett. I understand from Jack that you will have read my submission that I sent to HRC concerning people born in UK, but now residing in New Zealand. Since I wrote that submission, we have found a suitable path for those UK people who are Transsexual to be able to apply and receive their Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC), as well as their amended Birth Certificate (BC)
I think the easiest way for you to understand this, is to go into our web site, contained in our heading, and then go to “Advocacy” where you will find the following, which should explain what we arrived at.
The History of Case by Case Basis
Standard Track application, using the Case by Case Basis
Dear Baroness Ashton (DCA) 07/07/2006
Case by Case Basis 12/07/2006
This should give an idea of how it can be applied for those born in UK and now living in NZ.
I would add that since receiving my amended BC, all other UK departments have followed on automatically. I have had my Pension and Tax office details amended, without having to apply.
I have requested a meeting with the HRC, to explain in more depth the current situation, when I am in Wellington, from May 27th to June 5th. I return to Brisbane in the afternoon of the 5th of June.
Feel free to contact me if you so wish.
Love and Peace, Kathy Anne Noble
